I'm a landscape photographer who has been exploring and creating inspiring images of Dartmoor for over 10 years.  I'm the creator of the acclaimed video series "Discovering Dartmoor," and I share the stories behind the photographs I capture on my blog and YouTube channel. Additionally, as an experienced photography tutor and location guide, I help other photographers discover Dartmoor's amazing locations and create their own compelling compositions.

I was fortunate enough to spend much of my life in Scotland where I was surrounded by some of the most spectacular scenery in the world.  My experiences as a child growing up in the highlands and later as someone who loved hillwalking and cycling, has helped me develop a passion for the outdoors.

However, it wasn't until I moved to Devon and I purchased my first digital SLR camera that I started to appreciate how amazing the landscape around me was and that the photographs that I shared with the world had the power to inspire and evoke a sense of awe.  It was soon after that I decided to become a landscape photographer.

These days you'll find me wandering Dartmoor or exploring the Cornish coast, or occasionally I'll be back in the homeland walking in the highlands of Scotland.  As you might imagine I often see some of the most dramatic landscapes in the UK and I am driven to photograph and to tell stories about them.  That drive often means early mornings or long days, but armed with a camera, a flask of coffee and a real sense of adventure there is no other place I would rather be.  My passion for these locations is at the heart of my landscape photography, the videos I produce and the tuition I provide.

If I were to define my photographic style, I’m what you might call a classic or traditional landscape photographer.  My photography is very much influenced by my local area of Dartmoor, so I shoot a lot of open views and moorland.  Though I typically like my photographs to have lots of contrast and colour, I take a light hand to image editing.  I want my photographs to be exciting, but genuine.  Most of all I want them to inspire people to explore the great outdoors.
